The Role:

The VP, Data Platform and Analytics leads CPI’s data platform and analytics strategy, delivering actionable and contextual information that empowers operational teams and leadership to make data‑informed decisions. This role ensures CPI’s data architecture meets performance, scalability, and security standards while partnering closely with Finance, Product, Technology Services, Marketing, and Sales.

This leader owns the end‑to‑end strategy and delivery of CPI’s data platforms. They will design, build, and oversee the deployment and operation of technology architecture, solutions, and software that capture, manage, store, and utilize structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources. They will also establish governance, processes, and workflows that channel enterprise data into Snowflake to drive reliable business intelligence in PowerBI.

What You Get To Do Every Day:

  • Own the vision and technical strategy for data engineering at CPI, defining how data is ingested, modeled, and delivered across the organization.
  • Establish strategy, governance, and architecture to ensure reliability, quality, and health of all data ingestion pipelines.
  • Lead and develop a team of Data Engineers and Data Analysts responsible for CPI’s data platform and engineering roadmap.
  • Evolve data governance policies, standards, and quality frameworks across the full data engineering lifecycle.
  • Scale foundational data infrastructure to accelerate enterprise‑wide AI and generative AI initiatives.
  • Develop new techniques, reports, and models that improve insights, accessibility, and data‑driven decision making.
  • Design and develop solutions supporting ingestion, provisioning, and visualization of complex enterprise data for analytics, reporting, and data science.
  • Create and implement design standards and assurance processes for software, systems, and applications to ensure compatibility and operability of data connections, flows, and storage.

You Need to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years managing teams in analytics, data science, data engineering, or quantitative fields.
  • 8+ years working with SQL Server Integration Services or ETL tools.
  • Ability to present work to executives and large stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to translate business concepts into technical architecture.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define priorities and develop roadmaps.
  • Passion for data engineering and enabling organizations through data.
  • Excellent team‑building skills with the ability to attract, develop, and retain high‑performing talent
  • Strong leadership skills with effective delegation and decision‑making abilities.
  • Well‑developed interpersonal, negotiation, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.

We’d Love to See:

  • Agile or Scrum certification (Certified Scrum Master, Certified Product Owner).
  • Experience with large data platforms (Azure Data Bricks, Snowflake, AWS).
  • Experience integrating data across SaaS enterprise platforms such as Sage, Epicor, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Business Central, Microsoft Dynamics, or Marketo.
