Our Story:
Crisis Prevention Institute, Inc. (CPI) is the worldwide leader in evidence‑based de‑escalation and crisis prevention training and dementia care services. Our programs teach professionals the skills to recognize, prevent, and respond to crises in the workplace. Since 1980, we’ve helped train more than 17 million people across service‑oriented industries including education, health care, behavioral health, long‑term care, human services, security, corporate, and retail.
At CPI, we are dedicated to changing behaviors and reducing conflict for the Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security of everyone. We believe empathy, meaningful connections, personal safety, and security are the antidotes to fear and anxiety. This philosophy is central to everything we do and traces back to our beginning.

As a member of the team, you can expect to:
  • Make a difference through your work — You’ll be proud to tell your family and friends what you do.
  • Gain significant career experience within a fast‑growing organization — From entry‑level roles to executive leadership.
  • Feel fulfilled and have fun — We work hard but make time to build meaningful relationships and celebrate wins.
The Role:
We're looking for a hands-on Senior Digital Designer to bring CPI's brand to life across the experiences and materials our customers, prospects, employees, and leaders interact with every day.
This is a maker role. You'll personally design work across campaigns, digital experiences, video, presentations, and sales materials while helping CPI build a more modern, distinctive, and scalable creative approach. You'll work across everything from paid ads and social creative to website experiences and executive presentations, with the judgment to understand when something needs to be fast and functional and when it needs exceptional craft.
AI will be a core part of how you work. CPI is building AI into our brand and creative workflows, including brand skills, design capabilities, ideation, iteration, and production. We're looking for a designer who is excited to combine strong design fundamentals and human judgment with an evolving set of AI creative tools to explore more ideas, move faster, and produce better creative.

What You Get to Do Every Day:

Design Across the Customer Experience
  • Personally design campaign assets across paid media, organic social, email, landing pages, and other digital channels.
  • Create website creative and partner with Digital and Marketing teams to improve how CPI's brand and story come to life online.
  • Design customer- and Sales-facing materials, including presentations, one-pagers, event materials, and other priority assets.
  • Create high-impact executive presentations and visual storytelling for CPI leadership, including presentations for the Board and other critical audiences.
Build an AI-Enabled Creative Practice
  • Use Claude as a core creative and production tool, including CPI's brand skills and design capabilities, to develop concepts, explore directions, create and refine assets, and accelerate production.
  • Build reusable workflows, skills, templates, and creative approaches that make high-quality design faster and more consistent across Marketing.
  • Experiment with emerging AI capabilities across design, image generation, video, motion, presentation development, and other creative applications.
  • Apply strong human judgment to AI-generated work, ensuring everything CPI puts into market is intentional, accurate, distinctive, and on brand.
Create Video, Motion & Multimedia
  • Personally create and edit video, motion, animation, and multimedia content for campaigns, social channels, digital experiences, presentations, and other marketing needs.
  • Actively explore and apply emerging AI tools for video, motion, image generation, and multimedia production, identifying where new capabilities can improve the quality, speed, or range of CPI's creative work.
  • Determine when creative can be produced effectively in-house and when specialized external production is warranted.
  • Adapt creative ideas across static, motion, video, presentation, and digital formats rather than treating each asset as a standalone execution.
Strengthen CPI's Creative System
  • Translate CPI's evolving brand strategy and visual direction into practical, repeatable design systems, templates, and patterns.
  • Partner closely with the VP of Marketing, Content, Demand Generation, Product Marketing, and other teams to turn strategy and messaging into strong creative work.
  • Partner with the VP of Marketing in managing CPI's external creative partner, helping brief work, provide creative feedback, maintain consistency, and determine what should be produced internally versus externally.
  • Bring ideas and creative judgment to the work, not simply execute requests.

You Need to Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or a related field. Equivalent experience considered.
  • 7+ years in product, platform, or delivery roles, including experience leading teams.
  • Shipped a major B2B platform or product release incrementally.
  • Direct accountability to enterprise clients for delivery commitments.
  • Gross-margin or P&L ownership for services or custom work.
  • Leading through a separate engineering organization without direct authority.
  • Declining scope by stating the trade-off plainly.
  • Pricing and packaging literacy.
  • Clear structural communication with executives and clients.
We’d Love to See:
  • LMS or learning platform experience, including SCORM/xAPI and third-party LMS delivery.
  • Building configurable product catalogs and list pricing.
  • Support deflection or self-service programs.
  • Product analytics tools (Pendo or similar).
  • Healthcare or education sector clients.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
